Hasten up road laying work near Gun House

Sir,

The delay in road re-laying at Gun House area in Mysuru, especially the short stretch between Gun House stop and the Rudra junction and consequent haphazard diversion of vehicles on all the directions is posing untold miseries to the public for past many months.

While two-wheelers and light motor vehicles sneak out on any cut-short routes available on all the directions, it is the HMVs,  particularly KSRTC buses, that get affected the most.  The ones moving towards Nanjangud are the worst hit.

For a few days they were allowed entry (from Hardinge Circle side) to Ramanuja road, to join the highway opposite Ganapathy Ashrama.  But they are now back on the old route only (Ittigegud, Mall of Mysore and Race Course Circle).

Similarly, on the opposite direction, buses coming from Nanjangud into the city, used to take right turn opposite the Fish Palace Hotel, to pass through Zoo and Hardinge Circle, enroute to bus stand.  But now they too take deviation one stop earlier, that is opposite JSS College itself, moving through Crematorium, Race Course and Hardinge Circle to reach the bus stand. Commuters who depend on public transport modes are greatly inconvenienced due to this circuitous route involving additional journey time.

It is high time the road works are finished on a war-footing so as to put back the old system very soon.  Will the concerned take note?
