Bengaluru: Even as clarity and confusion continues to prevail in respect of Private School fees amidst COVID crisis, the Karnataka High Court (HC) will decide on the Private School fee issue on July 22.
Private School Management Association had petitioned the High Court questioning the Government’s order on collecting only 70 percent of school fee. During the hearing of the petition then, the Government had told the HC that it would consider constituting a committee headed by a retired HC Judge to decide on the complex school fee issue.
When the hearing came up again yesterday, Karnataka Advocate General Prabhuling Navadagi told the Court that the interests of school children and their parents is of prime importance in these critical times when the COVID-19 pandemic is causing havoc.
Arguing that it is not a tussle between the Government and Private Schools, Navadagi said that schools must also consider the plight of parents, who are facing a lot of hardship due to the pandemic. The State Government will form a committee headed by a retired Judge to solve the row over school fees, he pointed out. The Court after hearing the arguments in the case, said that it will pass an order on school fee issue on July 22.
