Health check-up camp marks Kaivara Tatayya’s birth anniversary

Mysuru: Marking 295th birth anniversary of Kaivara Tatayya, Balija Sangha had organised a programme at the Sangha premises in Jayanagar here Sunday.

Speaking after inaugurating the programme, noted columnist Dr. Gubbigudu Ramesh lauded the contribution of saint-poet Sri Yogi Nareyana Yatindra, popularly known as Kaivara Tatayya. “Kaivara Tatayya was one of the most notable personalities in Balija community. He was a rare yogi who preached equality and spirituality. His utterances known as Kala Jnana helped common people to overcome their personal struggles and ignorance. The main occupation of Balija community is business. While most of the community members have settled in Andhra Pradesh, we can find considerable number of them in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. They have also immensely contributed to the field of art and literature.”

As part of the birth anniversary celebrations, health check-up camp was held and over 60 persons underwent free health check-up at the venue. 

Sangha Advisor Meena Thoogudeepa Srinivas presided over the event. Veteran actress Girija Lokesh was the chief guest. 

Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Finance Standing Committee Chairperson M.S. Shobha, Advisor Vijayalakshmi Sampathkumar, Sangha President Yatiraj, office-bearers N. Hemanthkumar, Chinnaswamy, Lingaraju, Mahesh Nayak and others were present during the occasion.
