Health Dept. permission must for private residential schools

Social Welfare Minister Anjaneya has said that the Health Department permission is mandatory for setting up private residential schools in the State.

Speaking to press persons here yesterday, Anjaneya said that residential schools must install CCTV cameras in their premises and the new set of rules will come into force from the coming academic year.

The residential schools must strictly adhere to the rules and if not, their recognition will be annulled, he added.

Maintaining that the State Government has taken the recent tragic incident where three boys died after having dinner at Residential School near Huliyar in Tumakuru District, the Minister said that stringent action will be taken against the School management once the District Administration submits a report on the incident.

The Minister further said that educational loans of students from BPL families will be waived off.
