Health Dept. to host three-day workshop for folk art troupes

To educate on National Health Programmes

Mysuru: The District Health and Family Welfare Department, in association with the District Administration and Zilla Panchayat (ZP), will be holding a ‘Mysuru Divisional-level Workshop for Folk Art Troupes’ at the HR Centre of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) in T.C. Trust, Sankalpa Soudha Building B-Block, near Kalasthavadi on Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway from Dec. 8 to 10.

Speaking to Star of Mysore about the workshop, M. Muneendramma, Deputy District Health Education Officer, Mysuru, said: “Heads of various art troupes from Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts will be attending the workshop where they will be educated/ trained on various National Programmes of the Health Department and on how to create awareness regarding these National Programmes at rural level.”

Bengaluru’s Health and Family Welfare Services District Health Education Officer Jnaneshwar, Deputy District Helath Education Officer Vishweshwaraiah, Mysuru Divisional Health Education Officer S. Prakash, Krishna Janamana from Rangayana and Vikas Chandra from Kannada & Culture Department will be the resource persons for the workshop.

The workshop will be inaugurated by ZP CEO A.M. Yogesh at 11 am tomorrow (Dec. 8). District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. K.H. Prasad will preside. Bengaluru’s Health and Family Welfare Services Joint Director Dr. Suresh Shastri, Mysuru Division’s Health and Family Welfare Services Divisional Joint Director Dr. M.R. Udaykumar, Mysuru Division’s Health and Family Welfare Services Deputy Director Dr. T. Amarnath, Department of Information and Public Relations Assistant Director R. Raju, Kannada & Culture Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, Rangayana Mysuru Director Addanda C. Cariappa, District Reproductive and Child Health Officer (RCHO) Dr. M.S. Jayanth and District Family Welfare Officer Dr. P. Ravi and others will be present.
