Healthy Environment

The Chinese believe certain animals and symbols promote longevity and good health. These include deer, cranes, and peaches. Even pictures that feature the elements mentioned above, pine trees or bamboo are considered to be auspicious health symbols.

Health is not just the absence of disease.  It is also vitality and robust living that creates true health. Likewise, good health also incorporates a healthy mental state. Feng Shui has a variety of tips to help you with any area of your life.

The center of your home is the physical area of your home that holds and sustains your physical and emotional energies. The basic tenets of Feng Shui are ‘everything is alive’, ‘everything is connected’ and ‘everything is changing.’ The placement of doors and windows can mean the difference between Chi that is fresh and alive with energy, or stale and damaging. A room can have too much Yin, or negative energy, if it has been unoccupied and dirty for a long time which causes sickness. Health is connected to the Feng Shui of the environment. Good Feng Shui may not heal all that one suffers from, but it can help one become as healthy as possible. Bad Feng Shui can exacerbate, or increase susceptibility to illness, stress, and depressed Chi energy. The room you see first impacts your health the most. A rejuvenating, nurturing home environment is one in which the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water are in balance. You can achieve this without major renovations; simply follow our guide to begin transforming your home today.

Focus on bedrooms and bathrooms apart from kitchen as these are the areas which contribute towards healthy living. If your bathroom is directly across from your kitchen keep the bathroom doors closed or   use curtains/ screens to shield the line of sight, otherwise suspending crystals or red décor to separate these opposing energies would help. In the bedroom, make sure the bed is positioned correctly and not facing a door or can be seen from a mirror. Eliminate water, views to the bathroom or toilet, televisions, and plants from the bedroom and most importantly, take out all work-related objects as bedroom is a place of rest and relationship.

  • Sleeping in a room located at the end of a long hallway can cause the flow of energy in that spot to be too strong and can cause poor health.
  • Any bedroom that has been occupied by someone who was ill should get a good airing, bright light, and a fresh coat of paint to create a burst of positive, Yang energy.
  • A painting of a lake or waterfall — or, worse yet, an aquarium — has the same effect on the heart as a mirror.

  • Place a bowl of fruit in the sector of your home. And if you can arrange them in a stone or a ceramic bowl, that’s even better.
