Mysuru: A three-day National Conference of the Indian Society of Otology (ISOCON), organised jointly by JSS Medical College and Hospital and ISOCON, Mysuru, at Senate Hall in Manasagangothri will conclude today.
Hundreds of ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) specialists from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal and other States are participating in the conference.
Inaugurating the conference on Friday, ISOCON Founder President Dr. K.K. Ramalingam said that about 40% of children of India were facing hearing problems right from birth which was a challenging task for ENT specialists. He opined that innovative surgical methods should be envisaged to solve the problem. He expressed confidence that the developing medical sector would soon tackle the hearing impairment in children on top priority.
MMC&RI Dean and Director Dr. C.P. Nanjaraj, JSS Medical College Principal Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa, Organising Chairperson Dr. M.B. Bharathi, Secretary Dr. A.R. Babu and others were present.
