Hejje-Gejje Dance Fest in city on Feb.1 and 2

Nimishamba School of Dance to confer ‘Kannada Ratna’ on Rishab Shetty

Mysuru/Mysore: ‘Hejje-Gejje,’ the annual cultural extravaganza of Sri Nimishamba Dance Promoters, will be held at Jaganmohan Palace auditorium on Feb.1 and 2.

As part of the two-day programme, a State-level Dance Competition will be held on Feb.1 from 9 am to 9 pm. Solo, duet and group dances will be performed and the winners will be given shields and certificates. Also, the best teams will perform the next evening at the Cultural Fest.

On Feb.2, the 24th dance fiesta will begin at 5.30 pm. Actor, producer and director Rishab Shetty will be the guest of honour and will be honoured with ‘Kannada Ratna’ Award.

Former MLA Vasu, film director Sudhakar Sajja, film producer H.K. Prakash, Siri Channel MD Dr. G. Ravi and Chirantana Academy of Performing Arts Founder Deepa N. Rao will be the special invitees.

While Sridhar Jain is known for featuring in Kannada movie ‘Apthamithra’ starring Dr. Vishnuvardhan, his wife Soumya Jain teaches music at Government High School, Varuna.
