Heritage Diamond Jewellery launched

At a time when fashionable and modern machine-made jewellery has made inroads into the jewellery market, the traditional hand-made artistic, diamonds set jewellery in close setting has taken a  back seat.

The highly skilled artisans of yesteryears are slowly dwindling and their next generation prefer white collared jobs against diamond smithy.

But the jewellery fraternity is continuously making a herculean effort in reviving this old tradition of hand-crafted diamond jewellery to bring back the glory which was patronised by the Maharajas of Mysuru, Nizam of Hyderabad, Nawabs of Pataudi and so on.

A. Shankara Chetty and Sons, who have provided a platform for highly skilled artisans in creating jewelled masterpieces, launched “Heritage Diamond Jewellery” in city on Nov.4 as part of the jewellery showroom’s 94th anniversary.

Now the customers can experience South Indian traditional closed setting diamond jewellery with a modern twist for the first  time in Mysuru.

Sumesh Wadera, the highly-acclaimed Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the popular magazine “The Art of Jewellery” inaugurated the event. Chethan Kumar Mehta of Lakshmi Diamonds was the guest of honour.
