Heritage Walk for specially-abled students

Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar, Archaeology Department Director Nirmala Matapathi, Historian Prof. N.S. Rangaraju and others leading the special students during the Heritage Walk on Wednesday.

Mysuru: The Department of Archaeology, Heritage and Museums, together with Rotaract Club of Mahajana First Grade College had organised a Heritage Walk for specially-abled students in city yesterday.

About 30 students of Government School of Deaf and Dumb participated in the event.

The Heritage Walk was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar at Town Hall premises. The walk covered Silver Jubilee Clock Tower, Chamaraja Circle, Dufferin Clock Tower, Devaraja Market, Chamaraja Technical Institute and concluded at K.R. Hospital premises where refreshments were served.

Through the walk, Historian Prof. N.S. Rangaraju explained the features, significance and importance of every heritage structure which in turn was conveyed through the sign language to the students, who were seen understanding and appreciating very responsively.
