Yuva Sambhrama – Day 5
Mysuru: The Day-5 of Yuva Sambhrama at Kuvempu Open-Air Theatre in Manasagangothri witnessed students paying tributes to the heroics of the Indian soldiers who risk their lives at the borders to ensure safety of the people.
Yesterday’s event also witnessed the Yuva Sambhrama Sub-Committee remembering the heroics of Capt. Smit Machchhar, who saved 170 passengers in the Flydubai Flight incident. The audience also prayed for speedy recovery of Capt. Smit who is currently being treated at the UAE.
The organisers also felicitated the members of Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team that won the T20 World Cup last year.
Team Capt. T.C. Deepika, all-rounder N.R. Kavya and Manager Shikha Shetty were felicitated on the occasion.
Social media influencer Ramya was also felicitated for her works to retain Kotehundi Govt. School by adding smart classroom, auditorium and garden at a cost of Rs. 35 lakh.
Heavy rush at the venue
Kuvempu Open-Air Theatre also witnessed a large number of people gathered at venue to watch the performances of the students. The Police at the venue had to work hard to control the crowd. The venue, which has a capacity of about 10,000 spectators, was jam-packed by around 7 pm.
Following this, the Police restricted entry to the venue. Meanwhile, a few youths tried to jump through the barricades to gain entry. However, the Police were able to bring the situation under control.
