Highway Patrol Police come to the rescue of injured bike rider

Emergency response teams receive and convey messages in the vehicle.

Mysore/Mysuru: In yet another instance of timely action, the personnel of a Highway Patrol Police team shifted an injured bike rider, who had sustained injuries in an accident, to a Hospital in the city yesterday after the 108 Ambulance failed to arrive at the spot on time.

A bike rider was moving on Mysuru-Bannur road at about 9 pm last night, when his two-wheeler skidded near Bhugathagalli apparently due to the wet surface as it was raining, following which he fell off along with the bike and sustained injuries.

Upon seeing that the bike had fallen on the rider, the motorists  passing by came to his rescue by shifting him to the roadside and taking care of him. As the 108 Ambulance did not reach the spot even after a good 45 minutes of reporting of the accident, the Highway patrol team which rushed to the spot, also called the 108 Ambulance and waited for some time. But as there was no sign of arrival of the ambulance any soon, the Patrol team rushed the injured to a city hospital.

Meanwhile, the public were seen cursing the 108 Ambulance service as it did not respond to emergency calls, for which purpose the Government has introduced the service.
