Hindi Research Scholars undergo training at CIIL

Mysuru: A five-day training-cum-workshop on Testing & Evaluation and Item writing for the Assistant Professors, Research Scholars and School Level Teachers of South India began at National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru, on Monday last.

Pankaj Dwivedi, Officer In-charge of NTS-I, in his inaugural address, briefed the objectives of the programme and emphasised on the Testing and Evaluation and said that assessment is a vital component in education.

Prof. P.R. Dharmesh Fernandez, Head, NTS-I, in his presidential, address referred to various schemes of CIIL and their contribution to the research and development of Indian languages.

He pointed out that the research scholars learning the concept of Testing & Evaluation and practicing Item writing will help them in their research work in general and developing research tools in particular.

Dr. Sanjay Prasad Srivastava welcomed. Dr. M. Narayana Reddy proposed a vote of thanks.

Prof. N. Nadaraja Pillai, formerly of CIIL, Mysuru; Prof. M. Gnanam, former Professor, Central Hindi Institute, Mysuru; NTS-I faculty Dr. V. Ilangovan, Dr. Biresh Kumar, Dr. R. Shakunthala, Dr. Sanjay Prasad Srivastava, Dr. M. Narayana Reddy, Ancy Thomas and Amit Kumar Jha will train the participants together with external experts in various sessions.

Dr. Biresh Kumar, Dr. Sanjay Prasad Srivastava and Dr. M. Narayana Reddy are coordinating the workshop under the overall guidance of Prof. P.R. Dharmesh Fernandez, Head, NTS-I and Pankaj Dwivedi, Officer -in-charge, NTS-I. Prof. D. G. Rao, Director, CIIL, Mysuru is overall patron of the workshop.

Fifty-one Assistant Professors, School Teachers and Research Scholars, who are engaged in teaching Hindi (Language & Literature) working in Government/UGC recognised Colleges/Universities across South India are participating in this training workshop.
