Hindustani vocal concert on Nov.8

Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised Ganga Rajapurohith Memorial  Hindustani vocal concert at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar on Nov.8 at  6 pm by Vidu. Bharathi Prathap, accompanied by Pt. Veerabhadraiah Hiremath on harmonium and Pt. Bhimashankar Bidano on tabla.

Profile: Bharathi Prathap started  learning music under Pt. Maruthi Rao Inamdar and later continued under Pt. Ramrao Vinayak.  The tutelage Lalith Rao of Agra Athrouli Gharana gave her a new and higher facet of art. The passion for art made her to leave the Electronic Engineer profession and dedicate herself to music. Having accompanied her guru in many concerts she has  performed in many prestigious sabhas both in and outside India. Being an ‘A’ Grade artiste, she has been awarded Daughter’s Day Award in memory of Kalpana Chawla and Ganashree Award. 

Pt. Veerabhdraiah Hiremath, disciple of Vid. Puttaraj Gawai, is an accomplished singer and a harmonium artiste while Pt.  Bhimashankar Bidanoor is an accomplished tabla artiste who has accompanied many senior artistes — both are passionate gurus.
