Hit-and-run: Auto driver ends life, seeks apology in his self-video

Mysuru: A 25-year-old auto driver committed suicide by hanging self at his residence fearing the hit and run case in a incident occurred at Kanakagiri in city yesterday. The man has been identified as Shivakumar son of Basavanna of the area.

Last Sunday, Shivakumar fled the spot after hitting a pedestrian while driving his auto on Yelethota Road near JSS College in K.R. Traffic Police Station limits. The injured man had filed a complaint in this regard and had provided all the details including the auto’s registration number. Based on this complaint, Police had seized Shivakumar’s vehicle on Tuesday night. Upset over the incident, he reportedly committed suicide.        

In the self video that he had shot before taking the extreme step, Shivakumar has sought apology from the victim for causing injuries and fleeing from the spot without shifting him to hospital. He has also asked the victim not to harass his family members and held no one responsible for his actions.

A case has been registered at Vidyaranyapuram Police Station in this regard.
