Kudos to V.V. Puram Traffic Police for swiftly taking action and tracking down a cab, the driver of which is responsible for killing a youth in a freak accident in Vijayanagar IV Stage Ring Road, on Dec. 31 midnight (Oil leak helps trace killer vehicle, SOM dated Jan. 1). 

The eyewitness of the accident also deserves to be praised for timely information to Police Control Room, besides chasing the cab for quite a distance. 

Such instances of conviction in duty would definitely go a long way in  enhancing the reputation of Police Department, besides gaining public confidence. It is also necessary to install CCTV cameras in all sensitive places across the city to record such instances.
