Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy warns MP Pratap Simha

Bengaluru: Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy accused BJP MP Pratap Simha of purposely violating the Law besides warning of stringent action in case of repeated violation.

Speaking to media persons here yesterday, the Home Minister alleged that the BJP leaders were trying to disrupt the Law and Order and take advantage of the situation as the State was gearing up for Assembly polls.

Reddy in support of SP Ravi D. Channannavar, said that the Police officer had taken appropriate action against the MP and added that despite knowing about the Law, the MP was violating them time and again.

“The procession should have taken place on the permitted route. The Police stopped the procession only when the route was changed. MP Pratap Simha tried to drive his car rashly and break barricades. Fortunately, none of the Police personnel were injured,” he added.

Stating that this was not the first case of BJP MP violating the law, Reddy said that BJP must educate their leaders and activists not to indulge in such acts. “When it comes to Ramanavami, Hanuma Jayanti, Datta Jayanti and other issues, there are also more religious people in the Congress party. The BJP is just trying to make the matter political and take advantage of the issue. BJP leaders have become active suddenly only after Amit Shah’s visit to the State,” he said. The Home Minister also chided BJP stating that the party’s agenda was to make Karnataka, the top State in crime similar to Gujarat which has been on top since 2008.
