Hostel workers take out rally

Mysuru: Demanding fulfilment of their various demands, hostel workers under the banner of Karnataka Rajya Samyukta Vasatinilaya Karmikara Sangha, affiliated to All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC), took out a rally in city this morning.

The rally which commenced from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the North Gate of the Palace, culminated at Govardhan Hotel on Sri Harsha Road, where a meet was organised.

Complimenting Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya for announcing in the Assembly that the services of Hostel workers who joined the Social Welfare Department before 2013-14 will be continued until their retirement, the hostel workers urged the Government to fulfil their other 6 point charter of demands, which included regularisation of services of all those who joined service after 1985, implementation of equal wages for equal work and an end to outsourcing, among others.

Sangha State President Somashekar Yadagiri, AIUTUC office-bearers Chandrashekar Meti, Yashodara, N. Muddukrishna, G.M. Puttaraju and others took part.
