Mysore/Mysuru: With no one from Mysuru district getting a Cabinet berth, hotel owners from Mysuru are a disappointed lot.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, Mysuru Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda said that the BJP High Command has neglected the politically and commercially significant old Mysuru region.
Pointing out that Mysuru was once ruled by the erstwhile rulers from the Royal family and it saw great progress and growth under their rule, he said that the Government may have forgotten the contribution of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and other rulers for the city and the State.
Noting that Mysuru had no representation in the previous B.S. Yediyurappa Government too, he said that it is disgusting that the current Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai too has toed the same line.
Maintaining that Mysuru is the biggest city after Bengaluru, Narayanagowda said that the Government seems to have forgotten Mysuru, which is also called as the Cultural Capital city of the State.
Contending that Mysuru is a fast growing city with many reputed institutions of higher learning and other strategic Public Sector Undertakings, he said that it is not correct on the part of the Government to have ignored Mysuru, which is a top tourist destination of the State.
Expressing concern that business, commercial and manufacturing activities may take a hit in the absence of local representation in the Cabinet, Narayanagowda stressed on the need for having local representation in order to find long lasting solutions to the problems faced by the district.
