Hotel security guard steals cash, flees with Manager’s scooter

Bylakuppe: A security guard, who was working at a hotel, has stolen cash kept in the cash box and has fled with the scooter belonging to the hotel Manager. The incident took place at Siri Ambari Hotel in Manchadevanahalli near Bylakuppe.

The security guard was deployed at the hotel by Balaji Enterprises, a labour, security and housekeeping services firm.

On Oct. 3 night, one Raghu, a resident of Keeranahalli village in Periyapatna taluk, was deployed for duty and he again came to duty on Oct. 5 night. On Oct. 6 at about 3 am, a few customers seeking room came to the hotel and called Manager Haneef. When Haneef came to the reception area, he found the cash box forcibly opened and Rs. 30,000 cash kept in it missing. Haneef also found that his TVS Jupiter scooter (KA-12-U-5942), which was parked in the hotel premises, stolen.

The hotel management then informed the matter to the owner of the security agency and when they visited the village of security guard Raghu, he was not found.

Based on the complaint from hotel Manager Haneef, Bylakuppe Police have registered a case and have launched a hunt to nab Raghu, who is absconding.
