House burglar arrested: 1.290 kg silver articles recovered

Mysuru: Nazarbad Police, on Aug. 26, have arrested a person on charges of committing house burglaries and have recovered 1.290 kg silver articles from him.

The arrested person has been identified as Hanumatha alias Hanumantharaya, a native of Keerthi Colony, Bhagyanagar in Koppal district. He had come to city last October as a road construction worker.

The Police picked up Hanumantha on Rave Beedhi and on inspecting the bag he was carrying, the Police found silver articles in the bag and on interrogating him further, the accused is said to have confessed of committing burglary  of a locked house in Niveditha Nagar in Saraswathipuram Police limits where he had decamped with the silver articles. The accused has further confessed that he had kept the booty at his house in Koppal and added that he had brought the stolen silver articles to Mysuru to sell it. The accused has burglary cases registered against him at Koppal Police Station.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe supervised Nazarbad Inspector M.L. Shekar, SI Yallalingappa, ASI Poonacha and staff H.V. Madhukesh, B.V. Prakash, V. Srinivas, P. Chethan and H.S. Chethan in the nabbing and recovery operation.
