Mysore/Mysuru: Vidyaranyapuram Police have arrested a house burglar, who was committing burglaries since 20 years and have recovered gold jewellery and silver articles worth about Rs. 22 lakh from him.

He has been remanded to judicial custody.

The arrested burglar has been identified as 40-year-old Syed Aslam, a resident of N.R. Mohalla, who has over 150 cases registered against him at Bengaluru, Shivamogga, Mysuru, Chikkamagalur and Hassan districts. Out of 150 cases, 64 cases are being heard in various Courts.

The accused, who had made committing house burglaries as a hobby, used to identify posh houses in various places including Bengaluru during daytime, used to burgle these houses during night time, Police said.
