House burglars arrested: Gold ornaments worth about Rs. 7 lakh recovered

Mandya:  Mandya Police have arrested two persons on charges of committing house burglaries in the town and other places and have recovered gold ornaments worth about Rs. 7 lakh from them.

Disclosing this at a press conference, Mandya SP G. Radhika said that the arrested have been identified as Tippesh alias Yuvaraja of Chikkahabbigere village in Davangere district and Syed Basha alias Basha of Kempanahalli village in Tumakuru district.

The SP further said that the Police have recovered 230 grams gold ornaments, 1 kg silver articles and other valuables worth about Rs. 7 lakh from the accused.

The two accused used to break into locked houses and commit the crime. About 13 cases have been already registered against the two accused in Mandya Town, Shivalli, Mandya Rural, Davangere, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Karwar and Shivamogga Police Stations, she said.

The two accused were produced before a Court, which has remanded them to Judicial custody. ASP Lavanya, Dy.SP Chandrashekar, SI Santosh and others were present at the press meet.
