House burglars, two-wheeler lifter arrested

Gold, silver, two-wheelers worth Rs. 19.15 lakh recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, the City Crime Branch (CCB) Police have arrested house burglars and a two-wheeler lifter and have recovered gold ornaments, silver articles and various two-wheelers, all worth Rs. 19,15,000 from them.

In the first case, the CCB Police on July 18 arrested a house burglar at City Bus Stand and during interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of committing house burglaries along with two of his accomplices in Mysuru city and district, Mandya district and Bengaluru district.

Based on the information provided by the arrested accused, the CCB Police, on the same day arrested another accused and have recovered 191 grams gold ornaments, 1 kg and 330 grams silver articles, one air gun, all worth Rs. 10,15,000 from them.

The first accused was a juvenile offender in a burglary case and was housed in a juvenile home from where he had escaped and continued committing the crime, which came to be known during interrogation.

The CCB Police are on a look out for other accused.

Following their arrest, the Police have solved one case each in Vijayanagar, Metagalli, KRS (all Mysuru) and Kumbalagodu (Bengaluru) Police Stations, two cases in Yelwal Police Station (Mysuru) and three cases in Mysuru South Police Station.

Two-wheeler lifter nabbed

In the second case, the CCB Police on June 29, arrested a two-wheeler lifter and have recovered six two-wheelers worth Rs. 9 lakh from him.

During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of lifting two-wheelers at various places in Mysuru city, Bengaluru and Ramanagar districts.

Following his arrest, the Police have solved one case each in Byatarayanapura, Rajarajeshwarinagar, Chamarajpet (all Bengaluru) and Channapatna (Ramanagar) Police Stations and two cases in Lakshmipuram (Mysuru) Police Station.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna and CCB ACP C.K. Ashwathnarayan guided CCB H&B Division Inspector G. Shekar and staff in the nabbing and recovery operations in both cases.
