House burgled: Gold ornaments, other valuables worth lakhs of rupees stolen

Mysuru:  House burglars, who gained entry into a house by breaking open the lock, have decamped with gold ornaments and other valuables from the house in Vidyashankar Layout in city.

The theft took place in the house of one Tom Joseph, who had locked the house and had gone out of station.

A native of Kerala, Tom on Apr. 8, had locked the house and had gone to his native place along with his family. He had given the  keys of the house to maid Vijaya before proceeding to Kerala.

On Wednesday morning, Vijaya, who came to the house for cleaning works saw the front door open and immediately informed one Sheela Mohan, who is known to Tom, who in turn called Tom and informed the matter. Tom, who arrived from Kerala on Wednesday night, inspected the house and found 160 grams gold jewellery missing and informed Udayagiri Police, who rushed to the house and conducted an inspection.

Udayagiri Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
