House burgled in broad daylight

Mysore/Mysuru: Burglars have decamped with gold, silver and cash from a house at Vijayanagar 3rd Stage, 2nd phase in broad daylight on Friday.

The burglary took place at the house of Swaroop, who runs a books and stationary shop on Basavanahalli Main Road in Vijayanagar 4th Stage.

On Friday morning, Swaroop, along with his family members left for Chikkere village at Channapatna taluk in Ramanagar district to visit a temple there.

When they returned at about 2.30 pm, they found the front door forcibly opened and on inspecting the house, they found gold ornaments and silver articles worth over Rs. 1.20 lakh and Rs. 20,000 cash missing.

Based on the complaint from Swaroop, Vijayanagar Police who have registered a case are investigating.
