Gold ornaments worth about Rs.7 lakh stolen

Mysuru:  House burglars, who gained entry into a house by breaking the window grills, have decamped with gold ornaments worth about Rs.7 lakh from the house.

The burglary took place in the house of one Farooq, a resident of R.S. Naidu Nagar in city. Farooq, on Aug.6, had locked his house and had gone to Bengaluru along with his family and the burglary came to light when he returned in the evening and saw the window grills broken.

On inspecting the house, Farooq found seven pairs of gold earrings, three necklace sets, three finger rings, silver anklet and other valuables kept in the wardrobe worth about Rs.7 lakh missing and immediately lodged a complaint at N.R. Police Station.

Attempt to burgle house: An attempt to burgle a house has come to light at Doctors Guest House on KRS Road in city.

Suma, a resident of House No.202 in the Guest House, had locked the house and had gone to work. When she returned in the evening, she saw that burglars had removed the screws of the front door latch to burgle the house. Suma, who then looked at the CCTV footage of the camera installed in a hostel near her house, she found a youth aged between 18 and 20 years moving around the house and immediately lodged a complaint at Devaraja Police Station.
