House burgled in Sathagalli

Mysore/Mysuru: Burglars have decamped with cash and gold ornaments from a house in Sathagalli on Mar. 23.

The burglary took place at the house of one Sundar, an employee of Vidyavardhaka College in city.

As there was cultural programmes in the College, Sundar left his house early on Mar. 23 and returned at about 10 pm only to find the door forcibly opened.

On inspecting the house, Sundar found 206 grams gold ornaments and Rs. 4,000 cash kept in the wardrobe stolen and lodged a complaint with Udayagiri Police, who have registered a case.

Attempt to burgle shop in Saraswathipuram

An attempt to burgle a shop selling UPS and electrical items has been foiled by alert residents at Saraswathipuram on Sunday midnight. At about 12 midnight, two miscreants armed with iron rods, who came near the shop saw CCTV camera installed outside the shop and damaged it.

They then tried to break open the lock using iron rods. Alert neighbours, who recorded the miscreants trying to open the lock on their mobile phones, screamed at the miscreants, who fled from the spot. As nothing was stolen, no case has been registered.
