Mysuru: A locked house in Vijayanagar has been burgled, with the thieves decamping with gold ornaments and silver articles yesterday.
The burglary took place at the house of one Sridhar in ‘E’ Block at Vijayanagar 3rd Stage.
Sridhar had locked the house and had gone out with his family at about 7.15 am. Burglars, who noticed the locked house, gained entry into the house by forcibly opening the front door and decamped with 396 grams gold ornaments and 2 kg Silver articles kept in the almirah in the bedroom. Sridhan, who came back at about 2.45 pm, found the front door forcibly opened and on inspecting the house, he found the gold ornaments and silver articles missing and immediately informed Vijayanagar Police.
Vijayanagar Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar besides summoning fingerprint experts and the dog squad to the house.
Vijayanagar Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
