Housemaid, paramour held for theft

Saraswathipuram Police have arrested a housemaid and her paramour on charges of stealing  valuables from a house where the housemaid was working.

The arrested have been identified as Thulasi, a native of Chamarajanagar and her paramour Naveen.

It is alleged that Thulasi and Naveen had stolen valuables from the residence of Chandrashekar-Shyla in Saraswathipuram and had pledged the jewels at a pawn broker shop.

It is learnt that though he robbery occurred several months ago, the residents learnt about the robbery recently when they found the jewels missing while preparing to attend a marriage after which they lodged a complaint with Saraswathipuram Police.

The Police, who have  recovered the valuables worth Rs. 4 lakh,  produced Thulasi and Naveen before a magistrate, who has remanded them to judicial custody.
