Houses burgled in RBI Quarters

Mysuru: Three houses in the heavily guarded RBI Quarters have been burgled yesterday night with miscreants decamping with 300 gm gold ornaments from the three locked houses, coming under Metagalli Police  limits here.

This could probably be for the first time that miscreants struck the houses at RBI Quarters, which is guarded by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel.

The family members of these three houses had been to their native places to attend religious ceremonies on Sunday. The incident came to light this morning upon their arrival.

Metagalli In-charge Inspector Anil Kumar and staff, who rushed to the spot this morning, conducted mahazar.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe, N.R. Sub-Division ACP Umesh G. Shet, City Fingerprint Unit ACP Rajashekar, SI Appajigowda and the Dog Squad also visited the spot.

The Police have suspected the burglaries to be the handiwork of insiders as the place is heavily guarded.

A case has been registered at Metagalli Police Station in this regard.

It is yet to be ascertained how the burglars entered the RBI Quarters premises which has four gates guarded by CISF personnel besides CCTV cameras installed at the entry points and also at vantage points.
