Houses burgled: Rs. 4.50 lakh worth gold, silver and cash stolen

Mysore/Mysuru: House burglars, who gained entry into a house by opening the door lock using a duplicate key, have made away with gold ornaments, silver articles and cash from the house. The burglary took place at the house of 61-year-old Dr. N. Kumar at Nandini Layout.

On June 30 at about 7.15 pm, Dr. Kumar locked the house and had taken his wife to a physiotherapy centre and returned at night. The next day, when his wife went to perform puja, she went to the bedroom to fetch the silver puja articles which were kept in the almirah. When she opened the almirah, she found 160 grams gold jewellery, 2 kg silver articles and Rs. 70,000 cash, all totalling Rs. 4.50 lakh, missing. Alanahalli Police have registered a case.

UPS battery stolen

Miscreants have stolen a UPS battery from the house of one K.L. Shoukath Pasha, a resident of 4th Cross in Kalyangiri. Pasha had installed a UPS below the staircase of his house and when there was a power cut on July 2, the UPS did not function and when he went to the spot, where the UPS was installed, he found the battery of the UPS stolen and lodged a complaint at Udayagiri Police Station.
