Blank cheques, property documents, large quantity of lethal weapons seized

Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to control and prevent crimes such as murder, extortion, assaults etc., the Mysuru City Police yesterday morning conducted surprise raids on the houses of rowdy-sheeters across the city, seized blank cheques, property documents and a large quantity of lethal weapons such as longs, machetes, knives and daggers from their houses.

The Cops came to know that many rowdy-sheeters had indulged in providing finance for high rate of interest by taking property documents and blank cheques illegally and a few were also active in real estate business.

The Police warned the rowdy- sheeters against indulging in illegal activities such as threatening and assaulting innocent people, taking part in riots and fights and also harassing people. The Police warned them of initiating legal action. The raids were conducted as early as 5 am by the Inspectors and staff of all Police Stations in city and the search operation continued till about 7 am yesterday.
