Kollegal: Kollegal Rural Police have arrested a man, who had killed his wife by slitting her throat near Barachukki Falls in the taluk. While the accused is Prakash, a resident of Lokkanahalli village in the taluk, the deceased is Sowmya of Kaliyuru village in T. Narasipur taluk.
Police said that the accused has confessed of killing his wife Sowmya after suspecting her character.
Details: It is learnt that Sowmya, who was married earlier had separated from her husband and was living alone during which she came to know about Prakash, who married her. This was Prakash’s second marriage. After marriage, they were staying at Devangapete in Kollegal.
In recent days, Prakash began to suspect the character of Sowmya and had decided to eliminate her. On July 8, Prakash took Sowmya to Barachukki Falls where he allegedly killed her by slitting her throat with a knife and fled from the spot. Kollegal Rural Police, who had rushed to the spot, registered a case and took up the investigation.
The Police had found the knife used for the crime and Prakash’s two-wheeler insurance policy at the spot of crime and based on the clues, arrested Prakash.
