Hunsur CRPF soldier dies on duty

Hunsur:  Nagaraju (41), a native of Hunsur and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier, who was deployed at the ongoing farmers’ stir in Delhi, passed away while on duty on Jan. 4 following a heart attack.

He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son.

Following a heart attack, Nagaraju was being rushed to a hospital but he breathed his last en route to the hospital.

The mortal remains of Raju, which was accompanied by his colleague Ramakrishna, reached Hunsur this morning, which was received by Tahsildar Basavaraju, Circle Inspector Poovaiah, SI Shivaprakash, TP CEO Girish and Chilkunda PDO Shivakumar.

The body was kept near the statue of former CM D. Devaraj Urs for a few minutes for the public to pay their last respects and was later kept near Hunsur Town Police Station. The body was later shifted to Kalla Betta Colony in the taluk, where arrangements were made for the public to pay their respects. PDO Shivakumar had made all arrangements and Rs. 5,000 was provided by Gram Panchayat for the last rites, which was performed at Kalla Betta with full State honours.
