IAS Officer Anurag Tiwari’s mystetious death in Lucknow: CBI team in Kodagu for probe

Madikeri: A team of CBI officials was in Kodagu district yesterday as part of the investigation into the death of Karnataka cadre IAS officer Anurag Tiwari under mysterious circumstances.

Tiwari had served as the Deputy Commissioner of Kodagu between August 2013 and June 2015. The CBI team,  comprising more than 10 officials, is staying at the Sudarshana Guest House and is visiting Madikeri and other places to  gather information.

The team spoke to the cooking staff, gun man, assistants and other staff serving at the Deputy Commissioner’s office during Tiwari’s tenure in Kodagu, separately.

Tiwari’s body was found on Meerabai Road in Hazratganj area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on May 17, 2017. He was then the Commissioner of Food and Civil Supplies Department of Karnataka and was staying in Lucknow after taking part in a training programme at Mussoorie in Uttarakhand.

As per the request by his family members, the UP Government handed over the case to the CBI in June 2017. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) was probing the case earlier.
