‘Iftar’ for communal harmony held in city

Mysore/Mysuru: To spread the message of communal harmony, Rifah Chamber of Commerce and Industries had organised an Iftar party at a private function hall in Shivaratreeshwara Nagar recently.

Vikrama Jeet Singh, President of Gurudwara; Rev. Fr. Staney D’Almeda, Parish Priest, St. Joseph’s Cathedral; Sri Basvalinga Swamiji of Basava Sadbhavna Kendra and Akbar Ali Udupi, Secretary, Jamaath-e-Islami Hind, took part.

The function began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Abdul Ghaffar Baig.

Shaik Zabhiulla, President of Rifah Chamber of Commerce and Industries, welcomed. The dignitaries spoke about communal harmony and requested the audience to spread the message of brotherhood. Akbar Ali Udupi delivered the Presidential address. Mohammed Vali Ulla proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Mahboob Khan was felicitated on the occasion.

ABS Group of Companies Managing Director Syed Abbas, Gururaj of SK Group of Companies, social workers Syed Umar, Zeeshan, Nasir Abdul Ghafoor Azad and others were present.
