Mysore/Mysuru: Mandi Police have arrested the driver of a goods vehicle on charges of transporting cattle illegally and have seized the goods vehicle besides rescuing two oxen from him.
On May 12 at about 9 am, when Mandi Police were conducting Shubhodaya patrolling, they saw a Tata Ace goods vehicle (KA-10-9485) with two oxen in it coming from Dasappa Circle side towards Railway Station Circle and stopped the vehicle near the entrance gate of MMC&RI.
When the Cops questioned the driver, he is said to have told them that his name was Rajkumar from Nanjapura in Hunsur and one Tausif from Udayagiri had called him over the phone and told him to meet one Shabu in Hunsur, who would give him two oxen which he has to transport them to Mysuru and hand them over to him in Udayagiri.
When the Cops asked him whether he had any documents to transport the oxen, Rajkumar replied in negative following which he was arrested, goods vehicle was seized, oxen rescued and a case was registered.
