Sir,
This is to bring attention to the growing issue of garbage being irresponsibly dumped near SVEI School and the residential layouts of Vijayanagar 4th Stage, despite the regular garbage collection services provided by the authorities.
It is alarming to witness individuals arriving in cars and two-wheelers to discard waste in open spaces instead of using designated collection points. This careless behaviour is creating an unhygienic environment, leading to foul odours, a surge in pests, and potential health risks, particularly for children.
It is especially disheartening to see garbage accumulating near schools, where young students are at risk of exposure to disease. The issue also severely impacts local residents, causing discomfort and compromising the cleanliness and appeal of the neighbourhood.
Although waste collection systems are in place, many people continue to ignore proper disposal practices. To address this growing concern, I strongly urge local authorities to enforce stricter measures, including the imposition of fines on those caught dumping garbage irresponsibly.
