‘Sangeetha Nrutyotsava-2017,’ a two-day music and dance programme has been organised at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in city on Feb. 16 and 17 at 5.30 pm, under the aegis of Natya Sangeethalaya Research Institute, Mysuru, in association with the Dept. of Kannada and Culture.
Feb: 16: Music University VC Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar will inaugurate the programme. Musician Vidu. V. Nagarathna will be felicitated; Programmes: A Karnatak Classical Vocal Concert by Vibha Aravind; Group songs (Sri Shankaracharya Kritis) by the students of the Research Institute (Directed by Vid. K. Guruprasad); Bharatanatyam by Kale Mane Sisters — K.M. Lekha and K.M. Nidhi, daughters of Dr. K. Kumar of Kumar Performing Arts Centre.
Feb. 17: Music University Registrar Dr. Niranjan Vanalli will be the chief guest. Retd. Kannada teacher Vidu. H.V. Shantha will be felicitated; Programmes: Mandolin recital by Shrutivadya Music School (Directed by Vid. A.V. Dattatreya); Karnatak Classical Music Concert by the students of Natya Sangeethalaya Research Institute; Bharatanatyam by students of the Institute.
Industrialist and art patron K.V. Murthy will preside.
