Incomplete road works causing hardship to citizens

Sir,

I would like to draw the attention of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) authorities and MLA S.A. Ramdas towards the bad condition of the road that leads to Law Courts from Ballal Circle.

This road, called as “Nara-saraja Road,” passing in front of Shiva temple, is in a very pathetic condition since the last 4 years with uneven surfaces and pits. The footpaths are also completely damaged.

Following repeated complaints, we were told that funds were sanctioned to undertake road repair and relaying works. But so far only the drainage work has been partially completed. The status of the new road is far from over.

During the last 4 months the road and footpaths on either side have been dug up, filled with gravel and left as it is. This incomplete work has been  causing extreme inconvenience for motorists and pedestrians.

This is an important road as it links Gita road, Deve Parthiva road and Krishnamurthypuram among others. Now with poll code in force, all work has come to a grinding halt.

On being elected as Mayor, Shivakumar had promised to complete all road works by Nov. 24, 2022 but nothing much has happened in these areas. Don’t the tax-paying citizens need  good, motorable roads?
