Inculcate reading habit: Sri Veeryasheela Bantheji advices youth

 Bouddha Sahitya Sangha had organised a function at  Rotary Hall on JLB Road here yesterday to mark its annual General Body Meeting and  release of the book Vishwa Prasiddha Bharathada Bouddha Smarakegalu  written by Mahadeva Kumar P. Managath.

Releasing the book Sri Veeryasheela Bantheji of Vishwa Mythri Buddha Vihar advised youth to inculcate reading habit as many of them have been drawn to today’s technology thus neglecting books.

He recalled that many people during yesteryears used to have their own libraries at home. To cite an example he said that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar had a collection of over five lakh books. He pointed out that the book on Buddhist Monuments would be a very useful book for future generation which should be translated to English.

Mysore University Professor B.P. Maheshchandraguru spoke on Buddha’s Philosophy.

Sangha President Dr. S. Mangala Murthy, office-bearer B.M. Lingaraj, Author of the book Mahadeva Kumar P. Managath, Sangha Patron Jagadeesh, Vice-President Krishna and others were present on the occasion.

The new office-bearers of the Sangha were inducted on the occasion..
