The indefinite strike called by various Lorry Owners Associations and others entered Day-2 today with around 800 lorries keeping off roads thus affecting the transportation of goods.
The lorry owners have been strongly opposing the move to scrap lorries older than 15 years, steep hike in insurance premium for lorries, hike in RTO fee among others.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, Mysore District Lorry Owners Union Treasurer Prakash said that scraping of the lorries will be a huge loss for the owners and added that it would be difficult for the local lorry operators to survive by purchasing new lorries.
Around 300 lorries were parked in Railway Goods Shed, 80 lorries in Food Corporation of India (FCI) gowdown, 250 lorries in RMC Yard and around 200 inter-State lorries were seen parked on roadside on the outskirts of the city.
