Mysore/Mysuru: “India is spiritually an opulent country and it can provide the needed spiritual power to the people at anytime and that is the specialty of India. God is an inseparable part of Indians and because of this, India is contributing to the world in a special way,” opined Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.
The Seer was speaking at the valedictory of Sriman Nyaya Sudha Mangala Mahotsav and 1008 Chandradarshan function of Sosale Sri Vyasaraja Mutt Pontiff Sri Vidyashreesha Teertha Swamiji organised jointly by Sosale Vyasaraja Mutt and Sri Vyasatheertha Vidyapeeta at ‘Vittaladhama,’ J.P. Nagar in city recently.
“Sri Madhvacharya, Sri Vyasatheertha, Sri Jayateertha and Mantralya’s Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamiji are at the forefront of our spiritual world. People worship God differently in different places. But Indians have special relationship with God for having an inseparable connection with God. When people across the globe think that we all are children of God, we can witness many changes. If people have faith in God and then everything will fall in place by his grace. Mutts and other religious organisations are trying their best to promote devotion among the people,” said Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.
Stating that Sri Shankaracharya, Sri Ramanujacharya, Sri Madhvacharya and others gave many unique messages to India and the world, Swamiji said that it is a matter of pride that they are from South India. The fact that Sri Madhvacharya belonged to Karnataka is a special pride for all Kannadigas,” added Swamiji.
“Sri Jayateerthacharya wrote ‘Nyaya Sudha’ to enable ordinary people to understand the high class literary works. It is an epitome of scholarly writing and because of this, Sri Jayateerthacharya was highly respected. It is gratifying to note that students are studying such a literary work under the guidance of the pontiff of Sosale Sri Vyasaraja Mutt. The present Nyaya Sudha Mangala programme is held after the students complete the study of Nyaya Sudha. It is an important milestone in the life of scholars.”
Continuing, Suttur Seer recalled Suttur Mutt’s close association with Sosale Vyasaraja Mutt and congratulated for completing 80 years and wished that Sri Vidyashreesha Teertha Swamiji continues to spread spiritual knowledge in future as well.
Prior to this, Sri Sodhe Mutt Seer Sri Vishwavallabhateertha Sripada Swamiji said that at present, the illusion of smartness is pervasive. Because of this, people are losing faith in religion and Sri Vyasaraja Maharshi spread the message of faith in religion and God, added Sodhe Mutt Seer.
Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Vice-Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, was conferred with ‘Sri Veda Vyasanugraha’ award. Mysuru Pejawar Mutt’s Sridhama Administrative Officer H.M. Gurunath was given ‘Sri Vyasaraja Seva Durandhara’ award and Researcher of Dasa Sahitya Dr. T.N. Nagaratna was presented ‘Sri Purandaranugraha’ award.
