Indian Gaur dies in Kodagu

An Indian Guar died after it was caught in thick slush at Virajpet taluk in Kodagu district yesterday. The male Guar had entered the Beetekaadu Estate near Siddapur in search of water. It entered a pond to drink water but was caught in slush. Unable to get out of the slush, the Gaur died. Forest Department officers estimate the age of the Gaur to be about seven years.
