Indian MMA Team trains in City for World Championship

11 MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighters (7 male and 4 female) who will be representing India at the MMA World championship to be held in Bahrain between Nov.12 and Nov.19 underwent a rigorous National training camp at City’s Academy of Martial Science (AMS) which ended recently.

The 11 member team is drawn from various States of the country based on their performance at the National Championships held recently in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha in October. The World Championship is organised by IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation) and Indian team represents AIMMAA (All India Mixed Martial Arts Association).

The camp was headed by Indian Team Coach Alan Fernandes and supported by Kru. Vikram, Head coach, AMS and Professional MMA fighter Vikas Singh.

It is for the first time that the Indian Women fighters are representing the country in the history of Indian MMA.

Shivaraj Basappa – Bengaluru, Karnataka. 11. Ajit Negi – Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
