‘India’s pension scheme better than other countries’

Mysore/Mysuru: Retired JDPI (Joint Director of Public instruction) P. Sharadamma said that “Indian pension system for retired Government employees was better than the pension system that is prevalent in most of  other countries in world.”

She was speaking at the Pensioners Day celebration organised by Karnataka State Government Retired Employees Association at its office in Aravindnagar here recently.

Stressing on the need for pensioners to lead a happy retired life, Sharadamma said that “Savings will come in handy for meeting any future medical expenses and other exigencies.”

She called upon the pensioners to lead a happy and healthy life along with their family members.

The  new year calendar (2024)brought out by the Association was released on the occasion.

Tributes were paid to pensioners who passed away recently— M.V. Rajashekar, M. Narasashetty, B.K. Rajashekar Gupta, Malathi Srinivas, B.P. Subramanya, Srinivas, S.M. Vasantha, C.R. Krishnegowda, M.J. Shivakumar, S. Nagasundar, K.R. Venkataramaiah, V. Krishnamurthy, Kamba and Sharadamma.

Also, elderly  pensioners — Bhaktavatsala, Thibbaiah, Srinivasgowda, S. Ramanna, Nanjegowda, N. Nanjundashetty, N. Nagaraju, M.R. Jayaramegowda, M.P. Swamy, Radhakrishna, H.R. Nagaraju, Javaraiah, Shivappa, Sannathammegowda and Ramakrishna Iyengar were felicitated on the occasion.

Former Under Secretary to Government Dr.P. Boregowda, the Association’s founder President N. Obaiah, Karnataka State Government Retired Employees Association President B.R. Umakanth, Vice-President Mariadas, K.T. Veerappa, K.M. Nagaraj, C. Chikkalingaswamy, B.K. Shivanand and others were present.
