Indira Canteen work gains momentum

Mysuru: Even as the State Government has announced setting up of 11 Indira canteens in city, the works on all the canteens have gained momentum in order to meet the Jan.1 deadline.

The canteens will come up at CADA office premises, Government Guest House, Nazarbad, K.R. Hospital, Highway Circle, P.K. Sanitorium, Sewage Farm, Sangeetha Corner at Alanahalli, Sharadadevinagar, Azeez Sait Nagar, near Mysore Tennis Club and Triveni Circle. The highly subsidised canteens offer breakfast at Rs. 5 and lunch at Rs. 10.

An MCC official speaking to SOM said that pre-vast concrete slabs, are being used for the construction of these canteens. The works are expected to be complete in a week and each canteen will cost Rs. 28 to Rs. 31 lakh, he said.
