Nanjangud: Asian Throwball Federation Technical Wing President N.S. Subramanya was conferred ‘Informed Citizen’ Award at a programme organised recently at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan in the town, marking the seventh anniversary of Pragnavantha Naagarikara Pade.
Speaking on the occasion, Subramanya said that he was very much delighted to receive the award at his home town.
Noting that the award will make him more responsible in his profession, he said that his book on Kannada regarding the rules of throwball game has been very widely received by the followers of the game.
Pade President M.S. Satish said that it has been concentrating on key sectors such as education, health, hygiene and had conducted more than 70 cleanliness drives in the town.
Ayurveda Practitioner Dr. S.D. Sunanda and Hedathale village Accountant Nageshappa were felicitated on the occasion. Federation of Indian Rationalists Association, Mangaluru, President Prof. Narendra Nayak, Pade Hon. President P. Mahesh Attikhane, Science writer Sathyanarayan and others were present.
