Mysore/Mysuru: The Inner Wheel Club of Mysore District 318 donated 50 bed sheets, 50 blankets and two electric kettles, worth Rs. 11,800, to the COVID Care Centre (CCC) set up by the Mysuru City Corporation’s (MCC) to treat COVID-infected Pourakarmikas.
The materials were handed over to MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde at Zilla Panchayat premises yesterday by Club President Jyotsna R. Irani, Secretary Uma Mahesh and Member G. Sumathi on behalf of the Club. MCC Health Officer Dr. D.G. Nagaraju was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurudatta Hegde said that Associations and Organisations should come forward to donate generously the needy materials to the CCCs.
Uma Mahesh said that the Club has a history of over 50 years and this year, the social service activities have been taken up under the title ‘Hope.’ More than 100 saplings have been planted near Lalitha Mahal Helipad, she added.
As a few Pourakarmikas were infected with the deadly pandemic, MCC has transformed a students hostel on Bogadi Road near Harsha Bar into a COVID Care Centre (CCC) where only Pourakarmikas will be treated. Inner Wheel Club of Mysore has donated 50 bed sheets, 50 blankets and two electric kettles which were required at the CCC, said Dr. D.G. Nagaraju, MCC Health Officer.
